Public Community Gathering

To discuss and highlight the human rights, socio-economic and political issues within Kashmir which affect the UK Muslim community a public event was held on 9th August in Hale Barns, Manchester, which included the current prime minister of Kashmir.

A wide spectrum of organisations, professionals and individuals, as well as the media were in attendance.

Issues for discussion included :-

• Role of overseas Kashmiris
• Contemporary socio-economic and political issues such as
  • fulfilling the needs of the people
  • good governance
  • economic upliftment
