What is Scouting?

  • Scouting is the largest faith based global youth movement, with over 30 million members worldwide, in almost every county in the world. There are 9 million Muslim Scouts world-wide.
  • Scouting provides adults and young people with the adventure of a life time. Scouting helps develop personal skills, leadership, team work and friendships. There is a lot to learn in a fun and disciplined Islamic environment.
  • Camping plays a major part in both the Scouts programmes with regular camps across the year.
  • Beavers, Cubs & Scouts are open to both male & females

Adventurous Activities

  • The Scouts are encouraged to take part in a wide range of activities. Being outdoors is important and much of the programme will be given over to traditional Scout activities, such as camping, outdoor cooking and survival.
  • The highlight is our annual summer camp with other Muslim Groups from across the UK.
  • There are also opportunities for more adventurous activities such as night hikes, canoeing, archery and climbing.
  • Community participation and involvement in global issues is encouraged such as poverty alleviation, environmental protection, climate change and other local concerns.
  • Participation, rather than meeting set standards is promoted amongst the Scouts.
  • There is also a wide range of activity badges and Challenge Awards for Scouts.

The Scout Groups

  • We are offical Scout Groups registered with the UK Scout Association (Registration No. 46815)
  • Currently we welcome children aged 6 - 14 years. The Group's are registered charities and financially self-supporting.  Our money comes from members subscriptions, and from the hard work of our fundraising team and donations.
  • The Leaders are all volunteers.  Training and selection is overseen by The Scout Association to ensure their suitability and competence.
  • Training includes First Aid, child safety, programme planning and camp leadership.  All adult Leaders and Helpers pass a Criminal Records Bureau check to ensure their suitability.
  • The active participation of all parents in these activities is essential if the Group is to be able to pay its way and continue to thrive.
  • The Group Executive Committee, which comprises of parents, supporters and Leaders, is responsible for the day-to-day administration of the Group. We need your help to support the Executive. You can commit from a few hours a month to as many hours as you can.
