Muslim action against Poverty
How To ...Become A Virtual Activist
Become A Virtual Activist
We have a strong global presence through our membership, partners and supporters in numerous countries around the globe. We have a long list of victories to prove that when our members and activists speak with one voice, they make a change for poor people.
There are loads of things you can do by helping us from your home or workplace. Here is a very short list of practical suggestions about how you can become a part of this global movement against poverty, its causes and solutions:-
- We are always looking for good translators in different languages (Asian, European, etc). If you know, any of these languages (can speak and write), you can become a part of our pool of translators.
- If you are an avid net surfer, you can help contribute to our discussion forum e-magazine, policies and e-portal of articles covering news from across the world and submit it to us. We will try to incorporate the relevant articles.
- You are great at writing and would like to contribute… write an article for the e-magazine/portal and we will publish.
- Cyberactivism - This is a method of using the Internet to good effect in discussions, making arguments or defending a particular perspective with those who have influence and power to make change. This means using email and web sites to influence decision making, bring about change and ensure that our voice is not silent or underestimated. We suggest that all comments submitted are kept brief, concise and factual. Support your argument with actual facts and figues where possible. Please be polite and concise, free of derogratory language. Be advised that emails are not anonymous and can be traced back to sender.
Keep visiting this section to check out how you can become one-minute activist. If the above appeal to you, get in touch with us.
Want to Volunteer?
We can use any skill: from envelope stuffing to primary researching. To find out more about how you can get involved as a volunteer, contact us.
Make a Difference Everybody can help make a difference, every day, with small choices that have big impacts. Here’s our list of ways you can drop a pebble and make a splash, through your activism: -
- Don’t buy products which have been made by companies which exploit poor people and/or child labourers
- Run a small ‘poverty’ campaign against exploitation of poor people and children, its causes and solutions, if you are ambitious (We’ll support!)
Spread the Word! Any time you see something on the Global TFI website that interests you or informs or inspires you, send it to a friend or five. Print out a copy of the page and stick it to the bulletin board at school or work. Write letters to the editor of your local paper, write a project on poverty (We’ll help you!) or submit an article for our e-Newsletter (We’ll print it). Speak on global poverty, causes and solutions at home, school or work, and spread the word.
Make a Donation We are a people’s movement working for the rights of millions of exploited poor people, so the money needed to keep our campaigns running comes from people like you. Your donations will make all the difference.
You Have An Idea, Tell Us Got an idea for other things you and your fellow Global ‘Campaign for the Poor’ supporters can do to help, you can drop an email to us.
